§ 10-108. Annual license fee—Required.

  • There is hereby levied for each year an annual license fee upon the following insurers, in an amount as established from time to time by city council resolution:

    (1)

    Upon each insurance company doing business within the city;

    (2)

    For each separate business location in excess of one not covered by subsection (c) of this section, operating on behalf of the insurers within the city;

    (3)

    For each separate business location, not otherwise subject to a license fee under this article, operated and maintained by a business organization engaged in the business of lending money or transacting sales involving term financing and in connection with the loans or sales, offers, solicits or takes an application for insurance through a licensed agent of a life insurer for life insurance; and

    (4)

    With respect to independent agencies and brokers, for each separate business location from which a life insurance business is conducted and which is not subject to the company license fee imposed by this section per location within the city.
