§ 28-5. Collection of commercial and industrial waste.

  • (a)

    All occupied commercial and industrial businesses located within the city limits will receive solid waste disposal services and pay fees as charged on the utility bill except those commercial and industrial businesses which are not now being serviced because of the inability of the city to serve said commercial or industrial businesses due to equipment limitations. For purposes of this section, the term "commercial businesses" includes public housing and mobile home parks.

    (b)

    The city will set fees based on the following:

    (1)

    A base fee.

    (2)

    A pickup fee.

    (3)

    A landfill fee.

    (c)

    Failure to pay the charges for solid waste disposal on the utility bill will result in the termination of all utility services.

    (d)

    Unacceptable waste:

    (1)

    Dangerous materials or substances such as poisons, acids, caustics, explosives and volatile liquids such as gasoline, oil and paint.

    (2)

    Hot coals and ashes.

    (3)

    Building rubbish or materials.

    (4)

    Furniture and appliances.

    (e)

    If unacceptable waste is found in the solid waste collected at any site the city will not pick up waste at such site until it is assured that future collection at said site will not contain unacceptable waste.
