§ 2-264. Disposition of monies.

  • Revenues derived from the operation of the city natural gas system shall be used and applied solely for improvements, extensions and replacements of buildings, lands, equipment, and distribution and transmission systems now owned and used or which may hereafter be acquired by the city in connection with the operations of its natural gas system, except that monies may, from time to time, be transferred to the city's general fund, and applied to payment of other valid and legal debts and obligations of the city; provided, however, that sufficient monies remain in the Natural Gas Fund to pay the costs of anticipated capital expenditures, in accordance with accepted standards of sound municipal finance and public utility management, and also provided that such monies are applied to valid and legal debts and obligations of the city. No expenditure or transfer of money shall be made from this fund except by city voucher or purchase order. All depositories and signatures for disbursement of funds shall be designated by a city council resolution.
