§ 4-222. Qualifications.

  • (a)

    All applicants for licenses under this division must attach to their application evidence of their good character.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful to grant a license for the sale of any distilled spirits for beverage purposes for consumption on the premises to:

    (1)

    A person under 21 years of age.

    (2)

    A person of unsound mind.

    (3)

    A person who is not a citizen of the United States.

    (4)

    A person who at the time of application for renewal of any license would not be eligible for such license upon a first application.

    (5)

    A person who has held a previous license that has been revoked for cause within a period of three years immediately prior to the filing of the application.

    (6)

    Any person who has been convicted under any federal, state or local law of any felony involving moral turpitude.

    (7)

    Any person who has been convicted under any federal, state or local law of any felony not involving moral turpitude within ten years immediately preceding the filing of application for such license.

    (8)

    Any person convicted under any federal, state or local law of a misdemeanor involving alcoholic beverages, if such conviction tends to indicate that the applicant will not maintain the operation for which applicant is seeking a license in conformity with federal, state or local laws, rules and regulations.
