§ 2-329. Access to information.

  • (a)

    Access to customer accounts shall be password protected and shall be limited to finance department staff.

    (b)

    Each employee in the finance department shall maintain a password for access to such employee's computer. Each such employee's password shall:

    (1)

    Be changed by the employee on a regular basis, approximately every 30 to 90 days;

    (2)

    Be at least eight characters in length; and

    (3)

    Contain letters, numbers and symbols.

    (c)

    Any unauthorized access to or other breach of customer accounts is to be reported immediately to the city manager and the password changed immediately.

    (d)

    Personal identifying information included in customer accounts is considered confidential and any request or demand for such information shall be immediately forwarded to the city manager and the city attorney.
